OCEAN VIEW HOUSE, 5min WALK to SURF, 50Mbit #cozy

Our Casa Léon is a beautiful property with 3 houses on a little hill, right in the heart of Santa Teresa. After 3 years of traveling this was the best place I´ve found in the world. It´s a perfect place to work, relax, surf & do yoga.

We have super fast fiber optic internet.
We are close to town, but also up enough to not be bothered by it`s dust and noise. Only a 3 min. walk to the main road, where you can find supermarkets and restaurants. Only 5 walking to the famous surf beach Playa Carmen.

Our Ocean View Treehouse is a unique place, it’s an airy and spacious space on the steep side of our little hill, that makes you feel high up in the trees and above the town, that’s we our guests called it the Tree House, so we just named it like that.

# Open Space
The Tree House is a stand alone building, it comes with a big open living room, fully equipped ed kitchen, a king size bed room with AC and a private bath room.

# Stunning view
At 60 meters above the ocean level, the whole long side of the Tree House has a stunning view over the tree tops of the town, the hills of Mal Pais and the horizon of the ocean . You can see the waves breaking at Mar Azul and big birds gliding over the whole bay.

# Perfect location
Many places in the Santa Teresa area are:
– rather to far up the hills (from the beach 10 min or longer by car)
– to close to the main road (dust, noise & mosquitos)
– or they are too far off (20 min bumpy roads to drive to a restaurant).
But here we have the perfect combination between being close to everything, but also being up enough to catch the breeze, the view and the calmness. The best, you can simply walk!

# Close to everything (no car needed)
Since we are in the heart of the town everything is close by and in walking distance of 2-5 min: the beach, the supermarket, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, ATM`s, surfshops, co-working spaces, yoga, gym, etc. Right in our street you can rent ATV`s or surfboards on the way to the beach. Also getting here is simple, there are direct buses or shuttles from the major airports, which drop you right below the house.

# Internet & WIFI – super fast
We have fiber optic internet, which is great for all kind of remote work, for video calls, or just watching netflix. We do have a connection of 50 Mbps upload and 10 Mbps download and stron WIFI coverage. We know how important internet is for people than come here for remote work, so we care about this a lot.

# Safe place
Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Latin America, but still you should consider to be safe. We do have a good neighborhood around and also many tourists, we do have a tall property fence and security cameras for the drive way and main entrance. Besides our selves living on the property, our two dogs Chico and Pepe are our guards day and night (and they are gorgeous). We never had any safety issues and do everything to make you safe, so that you can simply enjoy your time.

# Friendly wildlife (without many mosquito`s)
Since we are in the town, we don`t get dangerous animals very close. We have monkeys coming very close, iguanas on the trees and hummingbirds circling the house. Also we don`t have many mosquitos, because of the airy space and we are not on the beach or in a valley with a lot of moisture.

# Eco friendly
We try our best to reduce our impact to the world as much as possible. We take care, that everything that can be recycled, get`s recycled. We do use only biodegradable soap, detergent and cleaning products. We also offer our guests a free filled 18L watertank, which they can refill at the supermarket, to avoid plastic bottles.

# Insider tips
We know our town and have prepared you a nice booklet with everything that might be of your interest and we are also very happy to have a coffee with you to tell you stories of our town, or to tell you where to go and what to do.

# We are family
Air BnB helps us to maintain our property and gives us bit of income, but it`s NOT business to us. To us it means giving our guests a great experience by sharing our property. We have been travelers at many Air BnB`s all around the world and now that the world comes to visit us, we enjoy it a lot!

At your private entrance is also our driveway to park your atv or car. The road up to the entrance is quite steep.
To park your car in our driveway, you need 4WD to get up the hill, otherwise you can also park your car in the road below, ATV’s make it easy up.

There are 2 epi(c)centres in Santa Teresa, north and south. We are located south, means we are at the surf beach Playa el Carmen. In our part of town you’ll find most of the restaurants on the beach, the best Supermarket, the ATM’S, the Bakery and many Surf and quad rentals, all within 5-15 minutes walking. Also we are closer to Mal Pais, there are many of the most beautiful (non surfable) beaches in the World (Forbes Magazine), check them out, by just walking 20 minutes barefoot on the beach.

In our neighborhood are a couple of rentals, hostels and hotels. We are a short walk up the hill, with a newly done road. most of the neighbors live below. It’s a mix of locals and people from all over the world that came to live here, so it’s a very international place. Many travellers come and go. In terms of the standards of latin america, it’s a very safe place.

From San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, you can come to Santa Teresa by rental car, bus, shuttle or plane. The plane will land in Tambor which is a one hour drive away, a shuttle or taxi can bring you here. The cheapest deal is to take the bus from San Jose (13 USD), the shuttle takes 60 USD, both need appr. 6 hours from San Jose including a beautiful ferry ride. Buses and shuttles can both drop you at the mainroad in front of “Super Ronny 1” from where it’s a 5 minute walk up the hill to our house. We do have two small dogs and a cat taking care of the property at day and night.
